The purpose of the Canadian Women for Wellness Initiative is to provide access to the Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) technique to individuals who are at risk for, or suffering from, toxic stress.

We offer the Transcendental Meditation technique to individuals in high stress professions such as police, firefighters, paramedics, nurses and teachers. We also offer TM to veterans and family members who are experiencing occupational stress injuries or facing the challenges of transitioning to civilian life and to at-risk families.

We organize conferences for the public on the physical and mental health benefits of the Transcendental Meditation practice on women’s health.

We fund independent research on the effects of TM practice on physical and psychological stress in individuals.

Regular practice of the TM technique shows impressive benefits for mental health

Listen to women discuss the benefits of TM for victims of domestic violence.

Listen to nurses explain how meditation has impacted their lives.

Learn how police find that TM makes their lives easier.

Stress is at the basis, it is at the foundation of health and unless you deal with that the rest of it absolutely falls apart. And I have seen the benefits of what TM can do for stress.

Stress is the black plague of the 21st century. Modern medicine has no way to prevent it and no way to cure it. The research shows that Transcendental Meditation reduces physical stress and improves physical health. But it also improves mental health and behaviour, performance and productivity.

I feel very fortunate to have found TM early in my policing career. I believe the daily practice of the technique has helped me deal with the long-term physical and emotional demands that come with serving the community through police work. I also know that TM practice has helped me stay calm, present, and focused during many high-risk and complex situations. With regular TM practice, I believe anyone can experience similar benefits.
