Scientific Research on the Transcendental Meditation Technique

Over 406 peer-reviewed research studies on the TM technique have been published in more than 160 scientific journals. These studies were conducted in over 200 universities and research centres, including Harvard Medical School, Stanford Medical School, Yale Medical School, UCLA Medical School, and the Medical College of Georgia, and have found practical benefits that are significant in all fields of life. Recognizing the value of the TM technique as a successful tool for stress reduction, the National Institutes of Health in the US has provided over $24 million for research to study the health benefits of the practice.
